Instruments

I was trying to make a blogskin for this blog but could not finish it because it was too tedious, and due to that, I didn't have time to do my research until today.
So forgive me for this very late submission.

Anyway, this blog will be for mainly anything related to music, be it albums, or instruments, bands or music styles.
It is going to be a very general blog, with articles about the music scene, and updates about different musicians, both local and foreign.
So today, this post will be about different instruments, because basically, music is all about sound and instruments are the main medium for sound transmission.

First up, we have the acoustic guitar.
For all the musician wannabes, its certainly the most basic instrument to pick up, and almost any type of song can be played using the guitar.
Most acoustic guitarists learn the electric or bass guitar after this.
The sound of acoustic guitars are guaranteed to help anyone unwind after a long day, and it takes more skill to handle it than an electric or bass guitar.

Next up is the piano/keyboard/synthesizer.
This instrument is usually used for more classical purposes.
It provides an exceptionally soothing sound which can make anyone stop just to listen for awhile.
It can be used to play any song possibly written, and it takes everyone to the basics of music theory.

The synthesizer is used to make artificial sounds, it can imitate the sound of any instrument ever invented, and it is widely used in pop bands, even certain metal bands, as well as DJs all over as this instrument is most suitable for covering up any emptiness in a song with violin sounds, or artificial drum beats to add funk to a music piece.

Thirdly, we have the electric guitar.
It is the most commonly used instrument, and it is popular because of the pop rock influence that music right now.
For popular songs nowadays, it is almost impossible not to have an electric guitar there to bring out the rock vibes in a music piece.
It is widely used because :

  1. It is easy to learn
  2. It can be purchased at a reasonable price
  3. It comes in many shapes and designs
  4. It's distortion functions keep users busy figuring out new distortion combinations.

Next, there is the bass guitar.
Many people at first glance won't be able to tell the difference between a bass and an electric guitar.
The main difference between both guitars is that most bass guitar only has 4 strings, other bass guitars have five.
The main purpose of the bass is to work together with the drums to bring out the low sound in tune with the drum beat.
It is a must for bands to have a bass, to keep the band in sync and to bring out the guitar rhythm for any song.

And last but not least, the drums.
The most essential percussion instrument to keep the beat and to make the song more interesting.
It is also another very important instrument, especially for rock and metal bands.

Once again, my apologies for the late entry, and do enjoy the music here that has all 5 instruments shown here playing. Most of you would have probably heard this, it starts off with the acoustic and the other instruments slowly come in one by one.

Quite an interesting audio track that showcases the various instruments you mentioned.

Do you play any of the instruments? It would be good to share with us your personal experience with music and the instruments.

By the way, the title of your post should not be 'Sorry for the late start". Remember what we said about titles?
